I recently got married in July and my husband is in the Military. We moved to Southern California with nothing, we used my personal line of credit and his credit card to cover the needed expenses with starting a new place. We have about $7500 in debt and have payments that fluctuate and make it hard to keep track of the payments. Neither of us have good credit, and we need a way to get out of debt and keep solid payments each month.

You won't have to worry about the payment dates after enrolling your accounts in the consolidation plan. You just need to make one check every month to your counselor. He will send money to all your creditors included in the plan. Monthly statements will show the latest standing of your debt accounts.

A debt management program will be helpful in improving your credit. Start paying the accounts with the small balance. Once they are paid, the creditors will update your credit file. This improves your scores gradually after accounts are paid and updated with the bureaus one by one.
