Does Allied Intestate have a right to
Date: Thu, 11/16/2006 - 09:18
My corporate cc went to Allied Intestate. They are demanding payment in full in the next few days.
Do they have the right to demand payment in full? They have threatened if not paid in full to report it on my credit - basically threatening to destroy my credit.
They would not offer payment plan becuase my credit score was too high for a hardship plan.
Any advice.

collection agencies don't have to keep your payment arrangements
collection agencies don't have to keep your payment arrangements. They are hired by the creditor to collect a fixed amount. They add their fees in it. If some adjustments can be done, you may pay at least 80% of the total.
Why not work out something with the original company? They will be a lot easier to deal with. I am assuming your cc debt is not sold by the creditor.
