What form do you use to respond to a Civil Summons?

I have been served a Civil Summons for a debt, by an ex-boyfriend. What form and how do I get it to respond to the court. Cannot afford an attorney!!!

Look up your county's civil court website, there should be some instructions how to respond to a civil suit.

Is the Summons form and the form to be used to reply the same form?

For California the forms you need to fill out are:

PLD-C-010
POS-030
FW-001
FW-003

You can take them to the self help counter in the court house for review before filing.

You can download them from the http://www.courts.ca.gov/forms.htm .. just use the drop down menu to find the right sections. Once you get to the self help counter at the courthouse they'll let you know if you messed anything up. It's pretty straight forward.

Who is suing? Have you contacted the credit card company??
