i have a loan with them and i am paid and they continue to take money from my account. do i have to close my account.

Who do you have a loan with? A pdl company? The majority here have had to close their account and open a new one in order to stop the debits and gain control back. Sometimes putting blocks on these companies are not enough because they go by so many different names and will attempt to debit the money under one of their dbas

Not only that, but if that doesn't work, they'll try changing the amount. They've done this on mine, and the debits went through. If you do attempt to keep your account and you're worried about their many dba's, check with your bank. There is some sort of number that each company goes by so that no matter what name they use or amount requested, if the bank has this number, they can still stop them. That's what my bank did. (Eventually, though, I still ended up closing my account because I had so many PDLs, I was going broke just paying the stop payment fees). Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

To prohibit them from taking money out of my account, I used a form called A Statement of Unauthorized Debit which prohibited the company from debiting my account period. But in your case, you might want to try closing your account period.

Don't try a stop payment because you will be wasting your $29 if they are changing the amounts.

By the way, what PDL are you talking about?
