OK, the people at GFSIL, and I use that term loosley are absolutely nuts. My friend has gotten rid of 4 pdl's but this one is something else. She got a $200.00 loan from them about 14 months ago and paid it off after 6 rollover charges of 75.00 each. This year she made the same mistake most of us here have made and got involved with the 4 she has gotten rid of with the help I found on this forum, and GFSIL. She got the loan from them 10/4/06 and because she closed her ck account and opened a new one, they were unable to get even one rollover payment. She has contacted them and told them she wants validation of both loans and is willing to pay, if she owes anything, after validating her rollovers on the first loan. She had one call that I posted about 2 weeks ago. She has e-mailed faxed and sent certified mail telling them she has revoked the debiting of accounta and wage assignment, and told them to contact her by email only.

Today she got 6 calls from them, telling her:
1. Someone was coming to get her furniture.
2. They have her SS # and will use that to debit her
new account.
3. They are not doing anything illegal. That she is
going to prison for a 225.00 loan and will not
see her family for a long time.
4. When she asked them about their license they said
she would not ask her bank for their license. She
told him her bank would have no problem showing
their license because they have one.

Those are some of the highlights. I guess this idiot would not let her complete many sentences so she just hung up, but he kept calling back so she faxed about 15 copies of the original paperwork she had sent and so far no more calls today.

She is filing complainta with CA AG's office next week, but was in tears whrn she called.

The only thing I not sure of is that statement re her ss# and that they could access her new acct. I know I read a post about this but don't remember where.

GFSIL is a really corrupt place, but then they all are.

I believe CA has issued that company a cease and desist order not to loan CA consumers pdls. His a$$ needs to be in prison, he can't make that threat the employees need to go to prison for violating a government order. I'm going to repost the link to the CA cease and desist order. Ba$&@ds! I hope she doesn't cave to these bottom feeders.

She wont, because I won't let her, but she was really scared about the threat re her s/s#. I don't think it has any merit, but everything the a$$ said to her really made her angry and we are going to talk to a friend about filing a small claims action against them.

Steelers, can you send me the info about any Ca ruling about these idiots? Thanks in advance.

Sam - you tell your friend to keep her chin up and not to let these jerks get her down. They will say anything to scare her into paying. Get her to talk to her bank ASAP and explain the whole thing to them. Most banks will be more than willing to help her get through this and stop this illegal activity.

Also, as mentioned by others here, make sure she files with her AG on these nasty people. They have no right to treat her the way they are, and the only way to stop them is to file a complaint.

Once she talks to her bank and gets things rolling there, why don't you take her out for a nice lunch or a movie or something? I'm sure she could use the stress relief! :-)

These loosers called me and had me going, the guy said i'm calling your employer and telling them what you're doing so i said you can't do that i'm out on medical leave anywyaz and you know this...so he went on to his next threat oh i know you have another bank account, i know it so i laughed at him and he said if i can prove you have another account you'll pay me 1000 i laughed so hard at him he had to put someonelse on the line.
So "the supervisor" gets on the line and goes first of all calm down ma'm so at this point i'm so done with them i was like well i'm calm but your employee there is threating and he gave me 3 different amounts i only had i 200 loan i paid 120 in fees and was willing to pay you so you can leave me alone!
So i said i need a written statement from you and yoour western union info so i can send your payment...so he goes okay but if is western union is 400 and ach 260...so i start laughing again
Then i said you want your money right, things have to be done my way you have to send me n email with all the info i'm requesting and it needs to say my account will pay in full so he goes okay okay i will send you the info agreeing to pay 260 i said okay because i just want to get rid of them.

Well that was about 3 days ago and i have not received their email, so i emiled their customer service requesting this info like 10 times.

You have to harrass them the way the do to you and i learn that.

So far route 66 and ambassador are blcking my emails so i went to another email account and send them an email :"you can block my emails but i will still send them from another address, i need a response immediately" and i send this today about 25 times to both and i'm planning on doing this tomorrow aswell so when they go into to work on monday (and we all hate mondays) they will hate me!!! Like i hate them right now.

Good luck to everyone dealing with these b*&*^s and fight, fight if scream, you scream, if they threat you do it too eventually they will get the point.

Hi Everyone
Had to go out for awhile. Just got back and checked this post. Thank you all for your posts. I told my frien Linda about this sight and that I had posted about the idiots at GFSIL. She's coming over tomorrow to read everything and I think I'll just leave her alone with the computer to travel through the posts. I know I was empowered the first time I started reading and getting responses. She hasn't received any more calls todaybut continued to fax copies several times of letters previously sent. I told her about going to the bank and she is going tomorrow because her bank is open onThe weekend. We'll get this one taken care of just like I did mine.

Again, THANK YOU ALL! :D :!:

I think banks will eventually close an account after so many days of being overdrawn, of course they charge a daily fee for being overdrawn, something like $5/day before they close out the account, which, correct somebody if I am wrong, is around 30 days, you don't want them to lose out on the extra $150 they can make. This is a fee I don't understand, if the account is already overdrawn for 30 days, the person is obviously struggling financially, so they add more on to the struggle.

Hi all,

Well my friend Linda went to her bank and told them what the crooks at GFSIL said about using her SS# to debit her new account. They said no way. They only had access to the old account and if they tried anything against the law the bank will press charges. Linda said if she could afford it she would hope they would. She also faxed them the California PDL laws and her request for validation again today, 20 times. She is going to do that every day until Thanksgiving. She also said Happy Thanksgiving to all of you for your support for her and me.

This site has given us all one more thing to be thankful for. :D

I too have had an ongoing mess with GFSIL. I can tell you a few things that I have notice though that may help.

At first I was very afraid of the threats to talk to my supervisor, etc. I have learned though that you just have to play their little game. I defaulted on a $200 loan with them after paying them over $600 on October 6. As of today all they do is call about once a day to harass me. Here are a few things I have been able to figure out with these idiots.

1. They will threaten to contact your supervisor- To date they have not. I was actually very smart and didn't list my supervisor on the application, but a friend that works with me.

2. These fools do not care if you contact the AG's office or BBB. I did so over a month ago along with 3 cease and desist letters and they do not care.

3. I like to just continuously call them asking for my refund. This really aggrivates them.

4. If you just keep telling them you can't understand them they will hang up on you.

5. Just keep telling them no. That is really all I have been doing. Are you going to pay this? No. Do you have a new bank acccount? No. What are you going to do about this debt? my best answer:I think the question is what are you going to do about it?

Anyway, they are by far the craziest one I have dealt with. Just stand your ground with them and do not send them any more money!!!

SAM62, I'm glad Linda's bank is being so helpful. It's a real plus to have a bank that will cooperate with you. Also, I hope you and Linda both had a nice Thanksgiving. You both deserve it. Linda, it's great that you keep bugging them. Many people have found that they give up when people bombard them with e-mails, faxes, etc.

Greenrhino, it sounds like you figured out how to get under their skin. Good for you!

I had dealings with GFSIL myself. They are awful. They violate every part of the fdcpa and they don't care because most of the people who take out these loans aren't very educated in credit laws. I don't know why I was suckered into taking this loan out. When I noticed these idiots taking money every two weeks I freaked out and contacted my bank to put a STOP PAYMENT on all their attempts to take out money.

These idiots harassed me for weeks. The same person calling each and every time. I caught onto his scheme the first day when he asked me if I was going to pay on Friday. I told him "why would I pay since I've already paid off the loan". He "informed me" that I had not. I then told him "Yes I did" and gave him a detailed explanation of all the payments that came out of my account and then sited Illinois' New Payday reform act where it's unlawful to charge more that $15.00 for every $100.00 loaned. I informed him that I had paid well over $600 and was owed a refund and I would like that in the form of a USPS money order. He got iffy with me. I got flustered and told him that I couldn't receive personal phone calls at work and if he kept calling I would lose my job. Eric (that was his name) told me he didn't care.

He continued to call and each and every time he was trying to get me to say YES on the phone.

"Are you going to pay today" NO.
"When are you going to pay" Never, I already paid.

"No, you didn't." Then send me an an itemized statement of account. "We don't do that". If we go to court the judge isn't going to accept that as an answer. "This doesn't have to go to court". If you keep harassing me it will.

"I want to talk to your supervisor". You're talking to her.

"Are you going to pay today" NO.

"We will garnish your wages." No, I sent in a wage assignment revocation Nov 1 and notified my HR department, that won't be happening.

"Can we call you at home". No.

"We will call your family". So, I hate them all anyway.

I contacted the Fair Trade Commission, Attorney General's Office and the BBB. I sent in a wage assignment revocation AND a 3 cease and desist letters. I then had my attorney draw up a letter requesting an itemized statement of account. I received ONE call from their legal department (or so they said) around the first of December and requested an itemized statement of account and haven't heard from them since.

Don't get caught up in their game. Say NO and request an itemized statement of account. Make sure when you send your letters you include that because IF it does go to court and you have requested debt validation and they never sent you your statement YOU might just win.
