AIP - paid in full!!!!!

One odd thing she said is that AIP only does the processing for Cash Transfer Centers . . . .
She also wouldn't admit that they don't have a license in my state, but she said she would "take my word for it, since I've done research on it". I didn't even have to ask to have my loan marked PIF, I was only disputing the legality of them requiring ACH payments. I told her that led me to check into thier license and didn't find one. I've got this conversation recorded so they can't go back and say they never said it.
And Natdust20, you are right. While talking to her she specifically said they are marking all accounts pif in NC. She said oregon isn't on thier list, but she's marked me PIF anyways! She said no more collection attempts, calls, letters, nothing more will be coming from them! YEAH!!!!!
Finally, you got success!! Good news. Do you have the PIF in

Do you have the PIF in writing? Recording is a good proof but you need to get it in writing as well.
When a recording is used as a legal evidence, there are lots of formalities to be done like matching the voice of the person if it's from the same company and similar other tests are conducted. This is time consuming and maybe you will have to do some expenses also.
Writing is the best proof if you have it in the company's letterhead.

She said that she would email me a letter, but I'm not holding my breath . . . . I have filed a complaint with the BBB also, so maybe that will get them to send it.
I doubt it will ever to go court because they are operating illegally in my state, so why would they try to take me to court? They'd be in more trouble than it's worth.

I was not thinking about a court case at the beginning. It may happen or may not, depending upon the situation. I was thinking if the company tries to sell your balance because their system says you have paid $89 on the $200 loan. This implies that you still owe them, though you have your statements to prove the payments.
A written proof in your side will be helpful in case some company calls you later for the balance.

I totally agree, the problem is that I know others have had their loans marked PIF and have never received their letter. I did ask to have one emailed, and so far it hasn't arrived. I would like to have one, I'm just worried that I will never get one from them.

Wait for sometime. If they don't email what they said, keep pushing them. Tell them that you have informed the BBB. This should show some immediate effects.

I already did file a complaint with the BBB, I think that's part of the reason she offered to mark me PIF . . . Although I filed the complaint last thursday, and I don't think they would've received it already. I told her I had filed a complaint about them requiring checking or savings account info for payment.
One thing that I'm curious about, and if anyone has any experience with this please post. When talking to AIP, they mentioned they are only a processing service for Cash Transfer Centers. Does this mean that CTC will be coming after me? She said she would close my file with AIP, mark it PIF, and not bother me again. So has anyone had AIP mark them PIF, but then had another company come after them for the money? I know Cash Transfer Center is horrendous to deal with . . . . Is AIP just a front for them?

Thanks! It was so easy . . . . I didn't even ask to have it marked PIF . . . She brought it up! And according to them I only paid $89 so I would still owe for the principle! I don't, I have bank statements showing I paid $267, but still, I didn't think she let go so easy. I just called her up, let her know what I'd found out, and she said that they knew loans in NC and another state were illegal, and they didn't do them there, but she didn't know anything about Oregon. I told her they are legal, but you must be licensed. She said she was pretty sure they were licensed. I told her that I checked under several names and they weren't. She then said since I've obviously researched this in depth, she would mark my loan PIF and close the account. She did mention cash transfer centers, have you ever heard of them?
Good for you :-) Make sure that you do get it in writing though
Good for you :-) Make sure that you do get it in writing though. I'm sure they will respond to the BBB with your results on this loan.
HELP...NEED CONTACT PERSON AT AIP!!!!
Would you please provide me with the name of the controller you spoke to at AIP. I too have paid them $267 on a $200 loan and sent them a cease and desist letter. I just received a phone call from Kristin in collections stating they are not governed by the laws of Mass and I am still on the hook for the balance.

Before you call her I would make sure they aren't licensed in your state, and have all the facts and laws in front of you. She wouldn't admit that I was right, she just said that since I'd done so much research into them, that she'd mark me PIF. I told her all the laws pertaining to my issue with them, and that was it! I didn't even ask to have my loan PIF, I still owe on the principle and was willing to pay what I legally owed.

I just called and spoke with Jackie. She said that she would mail me a letter stating that my account was marked PIF in regards to them no longer doing loans in NC...
