I know I keep asking this, but is there a way to stop Route 66 Funding from repeatedly calling and asking if I'd like a loan? I DON'T want one! Calling me at home is one thing because I can block or ignore their calls, but at work, there is nothing I can do. They only have my name and numbers, and I've never taken out a loan with them or authorized anything. But these calls are too frequent! Will it ever stop or do I need to take action? If action, what kind???

I would talk to your boss and see if there's anything they can do . . . . I know I got them to stop calling my work by having the receptionist say I didn't work there anymore. She had to tell them at least 5 times before they stopped calling me. I would also tell them they are harrassing you, and that all calls are recorded, and if they call again you will be filing a police report.

I called them for the second and last time after I got yet another call at work this morning and told the CSR that if they didn't remove my name and phone numbers from their list(s) and from EACH of the companies that they are affliated with, that I'd have to file a complaint. I haven't received another call since... so far. That was 6 hours ago, so we'll see.

Either way, I did end up filing a complaint anyway with the BBB this afternoon and have just completed my AG's consumer fraud form which will be mailed tonight. I'm very glad that I was "quick" enough not to give them my SSN and bank account information, although their having my home and work numbers is bad enough.

I just pray that others will wise up and stop giving criminals their personal information unwittingly. Boys and girls, ya can't trust everyone, and no matter how bad your financial situation is, it's not worth it to give these jerks your banking info! If necessary, go through those in-person places that require proof of income, etc. At least you know where their physical location is and that if they were to pull some shady stuff, your local and state authorities can take action ASAP. You have rights, but it's easier to fight for them when you know who you're dealing with.

Good luck to everyone dealing with Route 66 and their "affiliates".
