I contacted the American Consumer credit counseling center over a month ago, and even sent all of my bills. I did not however, get back with them, as they would not deal with my PDLs. After getting advice on this site however, I feel empowered to deal with those myself, and am wondering if I should let ACCC proceed with everything else. Feedback?

I am using them and have NO complaints whatsoever. They were very nice and easy to deal with. In the documents I signed with thme there was something that I didn't like the way it was worded and they changed the wording to suit me. Their charge is very minimal and they take exaclty what they said they would on the day they said they would no more no less.

Make sure that you will be able to manage everything on your own if you don't hire a consolidation company.

The reason I say is if you place a proposal with your creditor and they deny it, they will be alert if you use a consolidation company for the same accounts. You don't want a confusion to happen.

It will be better if you call the creditors and tell them about your interests in paying the accounts. They will offer the payment plans. If you find it easy, negotiate further or hire an outside company for doing the negotiations for you.
