If I go with a debt settlement company, set aside money into an FDIC account until enough is there to negotiate a settlement, what happens in the meantime with my creditors? I mean, they're just going to keep calling because they are no longer receiving payments, right? I understand the negotiating process, but not paying my bills... What do people normally do? This seems to be the trend for debt settlement. I don't understand.

I guess I was the cautious one to. I never quite understood the debt settlement deal. I think the creditors can still come after you during this process. I got a loan to take care of mine. It helped in the long run because it was a whole lot lower interest. I was fortunate enough to have a local bank. KYSIDE38
