How long have you been a customer with Chase? You mentioned that you have 2 credit cards with them, does the other one have a similar credit limit? Also have you been a fairly good customer with them; making your payments on time, etc?
Call Chase and explain your situation. Most lendors should have at least some type of heart when it comes to new job transitions. If they're unwilling to work with you, start looking for a new credit card (if that's what you want). Write a letter to Chase explaining your desire to leave because they weren't willing to lower the interest rate.
If you find a new credit card with a lower interest rate, you could possibly have the balance transfered, and then you could close out the Chase account.
