Payday Loans Default

Well, I tried to contact all 5 of the payday loan companies I had loans out with and explain to them that I wanted to pay them off one at a time and I would write 5 posted dated checks all within a 5 week period and none of them would return my emails or calls so I did what I thought best and cancelled my direct deposit and closed my bank account. I emailed all of the companies and explained what I had done and why and I have again offered to pay off the loans with a new post dated check and none of these loan companies have contacted me. Not an email, not a phone call,nothing. Now I am concerned that I have done something illegal that could land me in prison.
Advice Please!!!!!


Hi paticase , first welcome to the boards many willbe glad to help you here. I promise you you will not go to prison. What payday loan companies are you trying to work with, are any of them store front. Did you justr ecently close your account? If so, I promise you will hear from them very shortly. One thing you make sure you do even though you said in letter that you post date checks for them, DON'T. Do NOT give them any new account inforamtion or personal information. What you need to do is sit down and list each seperate account you have, how much you borrowed and how much they have taken out of your accounts.
