Through this site (which I'm eternally grateful for finding), I signed up with a debt consolidation company recommended by you. So far so good, except with one PDL company, sonic payday. The collector from there is calling, saying they don't deal with debt consolidators and I'm being charged every day I don't pay. He says the only acceptable solution is for me to pay outright. I told him I'm waiting to see what CCCA does and he just keeps calling back. He gets more and more threatening every time, so I told him to send anything in writing. I know some of his threats are bogus (the cops will be coming to arrest me, I'll have my paycheck garnished), but what happens if they don't accept the offer from the debt consolidation company? Am I building up interest each day that I will have to pay, on top of the loan amount?

You have hired a professional to take care of your debts. You are paying a fee for it. Shed your worries and let them negotiate with the collectors. They are professionals and will be able to work out something good.

Sonic Payday will throw all their craps. They are aware that debt consolidators are professional with their words and won't be able to bug them. You have done your job by hiring someone (for a fee) because you are not able to deal with the collectors as they sound. Just keep in touch with your consultant. He will send you regular updates.

What program did you go for? Is it debt consolidation or a debt settlement?

They will refuse any type of payment from a consolidation company. This company has actually been ban in certain states from doing loans. They carry no licensure here in the US. They exceed just about every states usury laws. You need to file a complaint against them with your State AG office about the threats they are issuing. You need to also send them a wage revocation letter stating you are withdrawing your consent to the voluntary wage assignment. They will try the wage assignment, then when they see that your employer will not honor it, they send it to a collection agency.

On the contract you digitally sign, Sonic has about wage assignments in small print. They think this gives them the right to get your wages. But wage assignments are strictly voluntary. YOu can revoke at anytime. You need to send them a wage revocation letter and if/when they try this, give a copy to your payroll dept.

Irish what company did they refer for you, they referred me to the law offices of richard a brennan and so far I have heard nothing but negative things from them so I'm thinking about cancelling before I sign the paperwork. I am also dealing with payday avenue which I think might be another name for sonic.
