I have had First National Collection Bureau, Inc. trying to collect for a debt on a credit card. I had a 500.00 limit and i understand with interest, that i might owe more, but i never charged over that amount. In my credit report it stated that i had a 1700.00 credit limit which is not true. They say i owe them 2132.00. but are willing to accept 1292.00 but debt has been charged off and i don't understand if i am resposible for the total amount they r asking for or if i should request a bill for all the charges? Or just pay them and let that be that?
Never just pay a collection agency. First you need to send them
Never just pay a collection agency. First you need to send them a debt validation letter certified mail with return receipt. Then once you receive proper validation proving the debt is yours, you can either take the settlement, make payment arrangements, or pay the full balance.
