That is a fact. I am a collector. Payment plans only, so for all those who can't pay in full, they come to ma. I get 5.00 in the mail, 10.00. They will not send it back. All you have to do is get the address. They may not want to give it to you, but keep asking. They do not have a choice. Some people call and say "can i have the address, i want to mail a check for the full amount. They will give you the address. A lot of people are racking thier brains, thinking that these agencies have to have it all...no they do not. They want it all, but the bottm line they get a percentage anywhere from 35-50%. so yeah a 10.00 payment means 3-5.00 for the company where a 1000.00 payment will give the company 300-500.00. Which would you prefer?
But to prefer and to require are two different things.

I remember when I was dealing with a collection agency for an old utility bill and they verbally kept telling me that they don't wan't to accept a payment arrangement. I was sending them payments anyway through my consolidation company and each month they would send me a statement saying something like my payment of whatever amount has been applied however this is not an agreement to accept any payment arrangements...please pay your balance in full..
I know I've never heard of a collection agency sending money back because it wasn't the full amount.

Every agency that i have worked for has a ppa file/ which is not wanted but they have specific collectors for that special file.
