They must have a court order to garnish wages. They may have had you sign a wage assignment clause in your contract. You can revoke that, it is totally voluntary. Send them a letter stating that you revoke any and all wage assignments you may have signed. They told me I signed one, but no where in my paperwork was anything like a wage assignment. I'm beginning to think these guys fraudulantly make wage assignment documents, without the consumer knowing.
Wage Garnishment
I am in Texas. I don't have the originalypaperwork because this was all done online and I did not think to print anything, but I don't remember anything in my documents about wage garnishments. I really think they are just trying to scare me, but they could be serious. The person who called me was actually from a collection agency.
