missara -
First, please refrain from the foul language - no one on this forum deserves your abuse.
Second, since you have registered with the site, a debt counselor will be contacting you within a couple of days to discuss your options for your own debt. If you do not wish to discuss this with them, kindly let them know when they call.
Third, while we appreciate positive, helpful information on this forum, attacks like yours are most unwelcome. If you have anything helpful to offer, please feel free to stay around and get to know us. You'll find that for the most part, the members here are honestly trying to get out of debt and are attempting to go about it in the most honest way possible. It is companies that participate in illegal collection action that receive our negative attention - not ones that legitimately are trying to help.

Miss Sara, please read SueBee's post and keep the language clean. We are all here to support each other and help, if you have constructive advice that is not abusive in nature we will be glad to her what you have to say otherwise take your troll to another board

I AM A COLLECTOR
Missara I am a collector for one of the most notorious CA's talked about on this site and I am here to help, I can tell by your nasty demeanor that that is how you handle people on the phone. You deserve to be mad. It is christmas and no one wants to pay you with that attitude. That is why people are here now. If you knew how to talk to people you would get a lot further. This is not a site to come to and talk s*** on. This site is to warn and teach people how to record and deal with collectors like you. Collectors like you make it hard for the ones like me here to help.

Can I just grind an axe real fast?
Enough with the horrible use of the English language. Every time I see someone wanting to be professional, but using poor spelling, incorrect capitalization, horrible punctuation and such, I lose respect for what they say, because quite frankly, it's difficult to read.
Granted, the internet is the internet - purveyor of too much junk and ****, some good stuff, and l33t speak. But can we all take just a little time to talk in semi-normal English when we want to be respected.

guest - I do honestly want you to post. I am not trying to chase you away. I just feel the whole English language has been completely ignored. Thanks - I'll go back into my cave now.

Beauty,
I'm really glad you decided to stick around. As you see, you are a valuable asset to this forum. It's people like missara and other scum collectors who make it difficult to work deals with. I wish more collectors were like you. I think both sides would be ahead, if that were the case.

jedijeff---I say a big AMEN to your comment on the correct spelling and language usage. As an educator for 22 years, I know that if I am to be taken seriously when I write a report card, my use of the written word should always be precise, correctly spelled and with correct punctuation. And when someone uses foul language, it just demonstrates their lack of class, simple business manners and brains. There is no way that this person would be taken seriously.

i never went to college. i grew up in the streets, i did get my ged, but luckily i am still young (23) so i can learn from my elders, not saying you are old but you've been teaching almost as long as i have been alive! :D

I would never fault anyone for not being able to spell correctly or use proper grammar, especially when they are trying. If someone is having trouble, use word on the computer to check your message. However, I have to agree with JediJeff when people are using those IM short cuts such as cuz.. UR.. 2 B 1 U hav to C 1.. OMG I hate that!
Let's at least use English when speaking (or writing).
Bravo JediJeff

I thought it was interesting that missara stated that she didn't work for Accept Acceptance right off the bat. Then defends a company like Accept Acceptance? It seems odd to me but everyone is entitled to their own opionion.

Well i did get my High School diploma and I do know proper English. And I am so sorry I offended anyone in here with it.Atleast I did not use foul language. And as far as scaring me away you did not .I dont scare that easily.I just figured instead of making a 6 paragraph post i would shorten it.But i guess from now on I will just be a ghost in here and just read what everyone else writes and keep my posts to myself since my English is so bad. I thought this was a site for debt problems not for English lessons.

Was my previous post better? Seriously I do learn alot from this site and have found alot of things out that I did not know before. And i do have some useful information that i can also give out myself at times.I was just a little offended by that comment when all i was doing was trying to tell Missara to try to get some of the facts straight.I am not a professional in anyway ,just a stay at home mom and already feel bad about my own debt problems and such and that comment just made feel lower and more stupid then i already do.No hard feelings though.

I did not mean to criticize anyone's spelling. I am not upset when anyone makes an honest attempt to spell correctly. However, my main gripe is with using foul language. There is really no need to use it, especially if you are trying to make a point.

And guest - I didn't intend to jump down your throat. My only hope is that when you want to be taken seriously, please type it seriously. As I said, the moment I start reading something and the use of the English language is poor, I have a really difficult time trying to believe and respect that person. I can handle a single misspelled word here and there - that happens. Hell, even I do it. (Yeah - I do once in a while - seriously :) ). My only ask is that if you want to be part of a serious discussion, you can better present your opinion when it's presented in a manner easy to read.
Please - if you have information, give it. I love info. We all do. So I apologize if I upset you. If you are being screwy, l33t 5Pe4K 4w4Y. I'm cool with that. But when you want to be taken seriously, it helps when you talk better.
I just want to help. Again - if I upset you, I truly apologize.

Again, the people like this are the ones who make mistakes in spelling and ability to record information properly.
Sometimes the accounts dont exist and its the collectors, like the one who started this thread are the ones whove Effed up.
This is how innocent people have their credits destroyed.
Its sad really. One would think baisic intellegence would be required to do a collectors job.

Its all cool Jeff. I understand what you're saying.Believe me i can throw out a few foul words myself at time just not in here or any other forum..I keep those for when my hubby gets me angry. And just so you know if you read a post from a guest and "the" is spelled like this "teh", it"s me. I can spell just cant type.I"m thinking of signing up to be a member soon anyway so then ill actually have a name instead of guest.Like i said before i have learned alot from this site and can always afford to learn more information whether it pertains to me or not, never know when someone I know might need it.

"it is very important whta you guys say that can ruin it or companies like the one i work for"
I think youre doing a fine job yourself making your company look bad.
If collectors were honest, only tried to collect money from real debts and from the people who accually owe it, and didnt lie to the credit bureaus you wouldnt have as much of a problem.
Ive yet to see any comments posted on this forum regarding collectors helping to fix the credit reports or lives THEYVE "effed" up!
Ill challenge anyone to find such a post where someone reports that a collector helped them fix a mistake theyve made...

I am with you totally Lorri. I don't care if you spell something wrong, it is the foul language that bothers me also. I am 50 years of age. Maybe it is our age! There is nothing to be gained(except I guess for making ones self feel better) by pointing out peoples mistakes and then harping on them. There are a couple of members that do that regualarly. For what? Lets stick to the business at hand and get out of debt.

I am also a vote for clean language. And proper usage is definately a bonus! I am also an "older" person here (47), whose oldest daughter is only two years younger than Beauty, so maybe that's my problem, lol.
Nobody deserves to be abused on the forums, because if you want to hand that out for being in debt, then everyone, including myself, needs to stand in line.
My problem is that although I made straight A's in English in school, it was straight D's in Math! Maybe that's why I wound up on the forumns.....

Well, I'm in the "older club," too (49). I also hate foul language. And talking about when we were younger and thought 50 was old, here's one for you. Once I was taking my kids to school (I was about 25 at the time, and my kids were 9 and 10). There was a guy jay walking, and very slowly, too. I said, "Oh, come on, get moving already." My daughter said, "Mom, don't be mad at him. He's old." (He looked younger than me!).
KS, I also got A's in English, loved spelling, but skimmed by with math. My brother-in-law once said women are usually good at English, and men are usually good at math. What do you think?

This is too, TOO funny. I am also a member in the "great in English, poor in math club"!!! Geez, what DID they teach us in the 60's and 70's? Oh yes----to be free spirits, blah, blah, blah. And express how you feel in the written word---it wasn't important to be good in math, but to feel good about your mistakes!!! Mind you I am saying this all with a great deal of sarcasm (and smirking!!)

You know what's bad, though, Lorri? In high school, we had a choice of general math or business math. Now, my kids are required to take at least one year of algebra. Luckily, we have a friend who is a chemistry teacher at our high school. He personally tutored my son with the algebra. Otherwise, he probably would have gotten an F instead of a C.

I took the college prep route and did basic math, algebra and then hit geometry and received the first and only F in my life! I tell everyone I teach 2nd grade for a reason---I can't do the math in the upper grades! (truthfully, I probably could do it, but I don't want to have to be responsible for teaching someone the WRONG way). Teaching second grade means I don't go past times tables and basic division!

Believe me, both my daughters know WAY more math than I do! They both got to Pre Calculus in High School, while I was lucky to get out of Geometry in one piece! When I took the SAT's back in the Stone Age, I think you got 100 points for signing your name--and my score was 101 in Math!

Okay, what about the guys out there? How are your math skills versus English? By the way, I have a brother-in-law who I used to type term papers for when he was in college. He was always very smart, but when it came to using to/two/too, their/there, etc., he didn't have a clue. I would practically have to rewrite his report before I could type it. But math, he was a whiz. (Now he's vice-president of a computer company).

Here's how many times I have taken Algebra and my grades. 11th grade--C minus, junior college--C minus, university--C plus (with a tutor) and in my master's program it was Statistics and I received a C (which I think the teacher gave me just cause I turned everything in on time---ALL WRONG ANSWERS of course, but by golly they were ON TIME!!!!) You would think with all of theses math classes I would know how to manage a buck!

When I was in 8th grade I only went for half a day, then took a bus to the high school and took algebra, english and biology. In high school I took Advanced Algebra, Honors Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Chemistry and Physics.
When I got to college, I aced the placement tests and didn't have to take three years of "regular" math, but I did have to take Discrete Mathematics 1 & 2 (the highlight of my course was writing a 2-page proof, using logic and truth tables, to prove that an odd number plus an odd number will always equal an even number.)
I'm good in English, and always got A's, but I hate it. Never quite enjoyed analyzing "what the author really meant."
... don't know what the original post here was about, but I just seen people talking about math and thought I would chime in.

I love math, could crunch numbers all day. Every job I had so far, they end up putting me in charge of accounting; and that's not what I was originally hired to do... the best, I started in high school scooping ice cream at a soda fountain. By my 2nd year in college, the owner moved me into his office and made me his bookkeeper.
Congrats to your son's friend. Harvard is definitely an accomplishment. I went to DePaul for a computer science degree, realized I hate computers, and then got a job with a finance company.

DebtCruncher---you are making my head hurt! Numbers are bad---words are good--LOL. Seriously, a seminar I took once explained it all (why some are better at math/some at English, etc.). It is all in the way we learn--everyone has different learning styles and things that make sense to one person, won't to another. For example, your brain understands how numbers and letters (like in Algebra) can go together and make sense. My brain sees letters and numbers as separate and should never be together.

Isn't it all kind of similar to being left-brained or right-brained. One side of the brain is good at all the logical stuff, like math. The other side is good at all the "free-thinking" stuff like writing, creativity, music, etc. I think I remember that from one of my psychology classes...

Debt cruncher, I've heard that, too. As I said, I'm not good with numbers. I enjoy writing, typing, etc., but I am not very creative. It just amazes me how easily drawing a picture that actually looks like something is for two of my sons. I have a hard time drawing a tree and making it look like one! I really think a lot of it is hereditary. Their grandfather (their father's dad) was a cartoon artist, so they definitely get it from his side. My mom couldn't draw, either!

This is all too much for my tiny, cold-medicine-fogged-brain this late at night! LOL
I am the one everyone at work asks how to spell things...and incorrect spelling drives me nuts. Hated Consumer Math (word problems about golf scores and trains driving towards each other at differing rates of speed...ick), also hated Algebra with a passion...yet I loved Accounting and still do. Go figure.

I have to really control myself about correcting adults and their spelling. It is one of my pet-peeves! For some reason my students (ages 7&8)will say things like "I brang my lunch" or "I brunged this for share". I correct THEM on that, pretty darned quick!

I know, Lorri - I can't stand it when my boss, who seems so absolutely heck-bent on making sure everyone ELSE does/says/types things correctly, says something like "I was told we wasn't doing that no more". AAAUUUGHHH! (we call her a frustrated kindegarten teacher because of her fondness for marking things with red pencil/pen - no offense)
