Hi, I just recently got a call from someone who worked at Bass and associates. She informed me that the company I had taken a loan out with were about to proceed with a suit against me for theft. I was so worked up since not two weeks before I had made arrangements with the original debt company, the woman there had been polite. Said it was no prob to set up arrangements, she even mailed me a letter with the payment arrang. info. Then two days before my first payment I find out that she made an error and it was already sold to another company. I have absolutely no prob paying it since, I was going to pay it anyway via my previous arrangements. But what burns me is, can they threaten with theft?

There is no suit that they will be filing against and it is illegal with them to threaten you with any of that garbage. Tell Bass & Associates you will not be sending any money until you see something in writing validating the debt. They are known to try and collect crazy amounts from people that are way beyond what they should be collecting.
