6 year old debt that is not mine

I live in pa and have been contacted by an agency that I owe money to IDT phone service. Now they can't supply me with a service address or want to hear that I never had this service. It has never apeared on my credit report and the service "date" is from a time when I had no service.This is the first time I am hearing about this and have no intention of paying for someone elses bill. What are my legal actions and for S&G's what is the statue of limitations on collectiig a debt of this type. What do I need to do to prove to them that I do not owe this debt.

Send them a debt validation letter. And have you tried contacting the original company? You could also file a complaint with your AGs office if you are not getting anywhere with these people. As for the SOL, I'm not sure about that, but I'm sure somebody will know and post it for you.
I don't blame you, I wouldn't pay a bill that wasn't mine either.
