I am confused about these two companies. I have an account thats been place with Creditors interchange. I skrewed up on a payment arrangement and I am completeley broke, so they are threatening me that their "client" will remove the account. When I asked where it will go they said probably back to resurgent.
I thought the client is the card company, I have no idea what or who resurgent is. Does anybody have any info on them? I have been cooperating with them, but when there is no money to give them I cant do much but listen to their threats. They offered me a settlement amount to pay next month, but they need $30 to keep the account there. $30 that I dont have right now. What should I do?????
Thanks

Don't know about Resurgent, never had dealings with them. But I have heard of Creditors Interchange, a collection agency.

Generally, if a debt-owner sends the account for collection, then that collection agency works on it. If the owner doesn't like the results, they can pull it out of collection; in which case it's in their hands again. They can send it to a different collection agency if they wanted to... or to their attorney... or they can make collection calls themselves and not deal with an outside agency.

It is possible that Resurgent is a bad debt buyer, they bought the credit card account from the original creditor, and then sent it out to a collection agency...

Sorry I don't have more info. Maybe you can call Creditor's Interchange and ask them who is Resurgent and what is the debt actually for. Since you have been making payments, I think you gave up your right to dispute it and request verification.

Even though it's just $30, but that's a bait, Jeff! How much do you owe? As soon as you pay, you will automatically renew your SOL (statue of Limitation) and it's a proof that you admit you owe this debt and when they bring this to court, you'll lose, Jeff. Think about all options carefully!

Here is what I know three days later. Creditors Interchange is the collection company. Resurgent Capital is their client.
My payment arrangements were $100 a month. Last month I messed up. A payment didnt clear. This month I attempted to make it up but got confused on the amount I needed to pay to catch up. I set up a payment but for some reason my bank did not accept the ACH withdrawal from my account. Creditors Interchange told me that I needed to pay $30 to keep the account with them, otherwise it would be taken back by their client, Resurgent Capital.
Per our agreement I paid the $30, now for next month they said I can can pay my regular monthly amount and try to catch up. They also said I may be able to settle for between 50% & 60% of the entire balance whenever I think I have enough money. Does that make more sense now that I explained everything?
