PAYROLL PROBLEMS...AUUUGHHH! (rant!)

Ok....I can deal with a lot of things, but a computer problem on the very last payday before Christmas....ARRRGGGHHH! Payroll was not direct deposited today, and is not likely to be until the computer is fixed. They can't even manually cut checks right now.

And I have yet to buy my older son's Christmas stuff.


Take it from an old union shop steward...(Sung to the tune of Jingle Bells...) "Labor Board, Labor Board, LB all the way! Oh what fun it is to spend those fines on Christmas Day, hey!" I would pick up le telephone, and give those folks a little ringy-dingy, if you haven't gotten paid yet--and explain that the checks weren't ready on your payday.

I'm not ready to fire off something to the Labor Board just yet. They did finally get it fixed as of this morning, but our direct deposits will probably be a day late. I can deal with that, as long as it's coming. It was just the issue of not knowing if it was coming or not. I knew they would find a way to make it work, even if they had to hand write the 600+ checks. LOL

I can relate to how you feel. Back in 2001 when the 9/11 bombing happened and they shut down all the Fed-Ex flights, I had to wait an additional week to get my pay. The head payroll dept for my employer is in Florida and the pay checks are flown here to OH. Since Fed-Ex flights were grounded, I had to wait that additional week to get my pay, but the direct deposit people were okay. Since that had happened, I switched to direct deposit.

Whew....big sigh of relief! Not only did my direct deposit come in yesterday, but TWO of them did. It seems they decided to pay us for next week in advance, since we are shutting down over Christmas. (Okay, a few people have to work..but not me!) I can deal with having next week's paycheck in advance, since I don't have to drive back and forth to work next week anyway. WOOHOO! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!

...or to my kids! This makes Christmas just a bit easier now.

Thanks, guys. Yes it is hard to loose a pet when they are like your family. My mom, who lives with us, has a dog named Fred, so when I got my shih-tsu, I named her Ethel! Poor Fred still looks for Ethel! Jessi - hope you and Ashley, and whoever else that isn't feeling well, gets better to enjoy Christmas!!..KAren :D
