Irish- I would respond to the letter by asking for debt validation. This debt is probably out of the SOL period, and chances are, they won't be able to validate. You can also put a cease and desist, that all communication be done through the mail, not phone, should get them to quit calling..Good Luck..Karen

I have a letter from them with a sae that I am going to send back with the laws from Ohio on the sol here in this state. I think that they are scavengers.
You don't have to pay the debt that is already out of the report
You don't have to pay the debt that is already out of the reporting time in your credit report. One payment at this time will bring it current and it might tarnish your credit in the future if the debt is not paid in full.
The companies cannot report this account in your credit report. Their must be legitimate reasons for reporting in your file. They get the rights only if a payment is done by you or an agreement that you are willing to pay it.

Its either SOL or a fraud account. Collection agents will place your name on annother persons account if they cant find the original debetor ( if the debt is accualy real) in hopes that you will pay it to gain a paycheque. File a complaint w/ the FTC!!!!

I just talked to True Logic about this Sears bill that is from 1994 and I really do not remember anything about this. So I told this woman that I believed the debt fell under the sol and she tells me that I hve 2 more years to go. So I told her to call my attorney at Rauser, gave her the phone number and record number. She was not happy and asked if I was filing for Chapter 7 to which I answered in the affirmative. Hope Idon't hear from them again - they call my house about every 15 minutes at night.
