California Payday loan

I took out a loan with one of the online payday loan sites, they referred me to MTE Financial and they are taking out $60 a week until I pay it off. Except I have no way to pay it off because I do not have their address, website, or a phone number to contact them. A lady called and left a message the day I got the loan saying it would be processed but I never recieved an email or anything saying how to get in contact with them.

I live in California and I'm trying to figure out how to get them to stop taking money out of my bank account. Is there anything aside from closing my account that I can do? They've made my account overdrawn and now to close the account I'd have to pay $130 to even close it(my bank charges $88 for NSF).

It seems that you never got the loan contract with MTE Financial. They are affiliated with Rio Resources and go by many other DBA names. There must have been an agreement with the company in writing that specifies the interests and fees applicable in your state. At this point, you also haven't authorized them in writing to do the debits in your bank account.

Go to your bank and request them to block the payer code of MTE Financial. Pull your previous bank statements and find out how much is paid on the account. You will come to know the latest status and then pay the outstanding balance by money order.
