I have an unpaid bill from 2003 with Sprint and it shows on my credit report as being in collection by two different collection agencies(allied interstate and Professional Cretit Service) Both credit agencies told me the bill is too old and I need to contact Sprint, while Sprint tells me I need to contact Allied Interstate to pay it. I'm trying to get a home loan and the bank tells me I need to get this cleared up before they will consider it. Any suggestions where to go from here?

Per the FCRA, two collectors cannot report for the same debt. One of them is reporting disputed information. Get the debt validated by each of the companies and dispute the item with the CRA. They need to investigate with the company that has your info and remove the other one.

I thought another way. Is it possible that Sprint has sold your account to allied interstate; hence they are now the current creditor? Professional Credit Service is in your file because they might have been hired by Allied Interstate for collections. If this is true, Sprint will be in your credit report with a zero balance. Check your credit report once again.
