What is the name of the company? We might be able to find their contact information for you. Did you pay by check or money order? When you call them, give them the check or money order number and the date it was paid. Fax them a copy of your canceled check or money order stub.

If the payment has cleared you should definitely provide them with the proof so they will know it is fact paid.

Doubt it, theyre just trying to get some extra cash out of you.

Generaly you can get a zero balance letter after your payment has been processed for 30 days. It depends on the company. I would call and ask to speak to a supervisor to see what the problem is.

Thats if the # they give you accepts incomming calls, AND the collector lets you speak to a supervisor....

Well, one of the other posts did say collectors aren't collecting as much around Christmas... maybe they're trying to get you to double-pay to make up for the one's that don't pay at all. (I am being a bit sarcastic ...

Do you answer the phone when they call? If you tell them you already paid, what do they say?

I would get the names or operator ID's of each person who called and the next time someone calls, say "I told Mr. Smith, Ms. Jones, etc...either someone's not notating my account or this is harassment!" Either way, you need to speak with a floor supervisor to get them to put a hold on the calls to give the paperwork time to catch up.

A lot of huge collection agencies have a dialer system which is automated and you can't block the number because it will call from different numbers, so you might have to be specific and let them know that a collector is calling or TO PLEASE TAKE YOU OFF OF THE DIALER SYSTEM.

Another option is to call your phone company and have them put a block on your phone so that it doesn't accept caller-id blocked numbers. (Calls originating from places that block your caller ID so that their call shows up as "unknown name, unknown number".)

A ca will most definaately find a way to locate you, rather it be cllg from a known # or using skip trace and contacting family members, neighbors, or even friends.
