Record the conversation secretly but make sure you have checked your state laws. In some states, you will have to notify the caller about the recording done. Otherwise, they might hold this against you and cause legal problems to you because of violating the laws.

Here's a list of what Payday Loan companies cannot do to you:
Here's a list of what Payday Loan companies cannot do to you:
First, in order to try and get you to pay, they WILL:
-call you repeatedly at home, work, or on your cell phone - or all three. And many times a day.
-yell at you
-accuse you of fraud
-accuse you of theft
-make you feel guilty because their company "isn't making any money on your loan"
-claim they are NOT breaking any laws in any country
-threaten to garnish your wages
They CANNOT:
-arrest you or put you in jail.
-garnish your wages, unless they are licensed in your state, and even then, they'd have to go to court, obtain a judgement, then proceed with garnishment.
-send the police to your workplace or home
-"download affadavits" against you
-take your home or car from you
These companies can only intimidate, embarrass, or upset you if you allow them to do it. Stand strong, know your rights and your state's laws when it comes to Payday Loans, and you'll come out on top in the end!

:x I borrowed $200.00 dollar from a payday loan companie called Route66Funding on the web. I got layed off but now I'm back to work. I had to close my checking account because they would bill my account like four times in one day. I called the guy (got his name) and told him that I could pay the loan back in money order payments. Well they stopped calling so I thought we had agreed on the payment plan. Well now he has sent me a message and told me that the investigation team is on the case and will not work with me on repayment. Not only that before I could moreless freeze my account really it isn't closed because know they have me owing the bank $759.23 in ISF fee for them charging my account three to four times a day for like a week. What can I do to maybe fix this?
Thanx :(

Open a new account at another bank before it is too late. Then deal with your bank once they close the account. There is no investigation team investigating you, Rt 66 operates out of the UK and they are unlicensed. Have you already paid back the principal and legal interest in multiple roll over/refinancing fees? If so, demand they mark you paid in full, if not, continue sending in the payments you have already been sending in. Get another account at a new bank ASAP.

And twylite - do not, under any circumstances, give your new account information out to anyone - especially not payday loan companies. You'll find it very comforting to see your bank balance remain where it should be - in the positive - rather than seeing it dropping daily due to those charges being taken out.
Rt. 66 is notorious for threats, extortion, multiple debits from bank accounts, and illegal collection practices. Since they are unlicensed in the US, they feel they can do whatever they want. File a complaint with your state's Attorney General against this company immediately. Many other people in other states have already done so, and many states are already investigating them.

LOL. I would ask if your attorney was a certain one, but I can't do that. I could take some flack for it. But you are a funny person. Entertaining, I bet that is why your attorney keeps you around. Maybe he's using you for material in a book.

they payday stores called him one day, they don't like hes helping me, threaten to take his lawyer license away and send him to jail, cops coming 20 minutes if he don't give them my bank account.
me and him take picture together, use photoshop to put jailbars in front of us. then we send to payday stores by email and say greeting from jail. next they call the jail warden and threaten to send him to jail if we dont pay.

In OH you don't need their consent, only the consent of one party, and if you are the one recording you can give the consent. In some states there are serious penalties for secretly taping calls, I've seen some fines up to $10,000! Depending upon what type of felony class they list it as.
