Bill collectors threatening legal action

Welcome to the Community Tammy :D Like SueBee said, someone will contact you for your credit counseling. In the meantime, read others posts and see how they have handled situatiuon. Collectors will threaten any, and everything. They can't arrest you and put you in debtors prison! Just be sure and never give them bank or personal info, they will clean out your account. I found that the company i was using was just taking my money and really screwed up my credit. My credit is worst today than 2 months ago. Now i am trying to get this all straightened out. I guess i learned that if it sounds to good to be true it is.

Have you cancelled your contract with your present consolidation company? And did they offer any reason why your payments didn't go to your creditors?
