I owe 2 payday loans and I dont have the money in my bank account to pay it right now because of an illness and I was wondering what I should do? I have missed work and havent received a paycheck for 2 weeks. Im on a leave of absence from my work right now.

Welcome to the forums! You've come to the right place to discuss debt and credit issues.

Can you make a payment arrangement with the payday lenders? If you don't mind posting the names of the companies here, we can help you out a little more - most of us have dealt with payday loans, and between the combined experience of everyone here, we have pretty much ALL the payday lenders covered to some extent!

How much have you paid these payday loans so far, and what was the original amount borrowed? Posting the state you live in will be helpful as well - it has a great deal to do with how much you have to pay back.

Also, since you have registered with the site, a consultant will be contacting you soon to discuss consolidation or debt settlement. If you do not feel you need their services, please feel free to let them know when they call.

Call the payday loan companies and explain your problems. They will sound aggressive if they don't hear from you and make the call first. You might be able to arrange some extensions on your payments.

Other option is to wait and let the account go to collections. Then, you may arrange a settlement with the debt collector.

I would be able to assist you further if you could answer a few questions for me:

1) Have you registered with this site? If so, you have come to the right place.

2) Which PDL's do you have? Are they internet or storefront?

3) What is your current balance on these loans and what are the interest rates? How long have you've had these loans?

4) Have you considered debt consolidation or have you contacted these companies to make arrangements?

5) Are they still debiting from your checking account and if so, have you closed your account or place a stop payment on your account?

Answer these questions for me and we all can assist you further.

Go to www.paydayloaninfo.org and look up your state laws on payday lending. Also file complaints with your Attorney Generals office. The more complaints the better. These people are nothing more than loan sharks. KYSIDE38
