anyone have the address to United Pay Services? 305-433-8368, very nasty people.

I remember that number as if it was my own home phone! To me...they called themselves United Processing Division. They really are nasty but the best thing that you can do is stand up for yourself - I learned that by asking advice from this forum :) I was shocked because it was the first time I ever dealt with a collection agency and I didn't know what to expect. Tom Jackson told me they were "downloading an affidavit" that day and that I needed to pay $580 on a $200 loan (most of which was already paid). I was so upset - I almost gave in because I didn't know I had another choice.

When I spoke with him again I had my facts straight and demanded that he give me his address so I could forward a letter to validate that he was the correct person to collect the debt. I knew this was critical because I've heard stories of people who pay on CA only to learn that they were scammed. He obviously refused and told me that 25 people were going to come to my house. Well he told me that a few times - and I told him I hoped they were hot ;) I knew he wasn't correct and had no right to make threats like he was.

Honestly if it wasn't for this forum...I would be out LOTS of money.

Hope this helps...I know that throwing confidence back in his face helped...he just hung up ;)

Debra

I don't have an address for united pay services but they are in Jacksonville, FL I believe they also go under the name of united federal bank. I am dealing with them right now. Not nice at all. When asked for a DV they told me oh you want to go that route then we will have papers served on you if you don't want charges filed then pay us and after you PIF we will send out the DV. Well that was before I came in here. So I was dumb enough to send them 2 payments. But I do have a supervisors (if thats what you want to call him) direct number 305-396-6625 and his name is jack smith (speaks broken english)

United Pay Services could be the one that you could call, 'most shady'. All of the people who call you, have 'american sounding' names, but thick mid east accents. More than likely they are not even on U.S. soil.

They will no doubt tell you that you owe considerably MORE than you really do. If your total owed is say, $280, they say its $580. I actually had my debt consolidation representative tell me, that these people, had a woman pay $480, and told her that was what she owed. She paid it, and one week later they called AGAIN, demanding ANOTHER $480. She told them she'd already paid them, they then told her, 'no that was only your FIRST payment'. Scamming? Could be, could be.

They called me for a week straight, threatening me, and all that jazz. One was a woman calling herself "Amber Snow" (there is a young woman with that name who is a model I guess). The other, supposedly a supervisor, is calling himself "Kevin Pieterson" This again, is another name, apparently of a cricket playing great Kevin Pieterson. This was the spelling he gave me.

They also will not tell you where they are, only that they are on eastern time zone.

Real shady bunch if you ask me.
