You know, as many tax returns as I've done, I've never done one that involved tips. I'm sure someone else here will have the expertise that I don't have in this area.
We'll get you an answer - and in the meantime, I'm going to research this a little, in case I ever do have to use it. I'll let you know what I find out.

I've done my oldest daughter's tax returns for sometime now (who has only worked in restaurants) and found that there is a spot on the W2 for tips. I can't recall exactly which box it is, but I was amazed last year when I saw it, because she is a line cook and has always worked back of the house. She told me that they all got tip share, which is why she got them.
