I just got a call from this number - 877-899-0192. It was a computer generated message and identified themselves as NCL Financial Systems, Inc. I did a search on Google for the number and it apparently originates in Jacksonville, FL. I did a search on NCL and it appears to either have been formerly known as Risk Management or they purposely misrepresent themselves and the actual name of the company is NCO Financial.
If anyone could give me some accurate information about NCL Financial, I would certainly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Just FYI...i've also received now three mornings in a row an automated message from 1-800-554-6841 requesting i call another 1-800 #...left a ref# too; all calls received on my celluler phone. I take it that this is a scam...but how did they get my cell number?Have a nice day:-) Seven

I have received calls for the last 2 weeks from a company telling me they are required by law to disclose they are a debt collection agency and telling me to call the toll free number -(1) 800 735 6588. They have called my home, my cell and my children's cell phones. We do not owe money to anyone! When I called the number today, the line went dead although I was still connected. Scam or what!

The company that called you is NCO Financial Systems. They do exist however some of their practices are rather shady. I would suggest contacting them to see what it is in regards to and if any portion of it seems funny you can request validation. Let me know how everything goes and I'll try to help you out to the best of my ability.

Next time they call answer, verify you are the consumer they are seeking, verify your mailing address and inform NCL Financial they now have 5 days to send you a dunning letter. End the call. Since you're in TX, you can record without informing them so I would do so. Once you receive their dunning letter, resond with a DV and reference both the fdcpa and Chapter 392 of the Texas Finance Code. See the links in my signature for the TFC and bonding information. If they continue to call before sending a dunning letter, file complaints with the TX and PA AG's. The PA AG loves NCO. You can read more about NCO here:

I've been getting phone calls for 3 days in a row, with pre-recorded message identifying themselves as NCL Financial Systems. The message mentioned debt collection, and asked me to contact them at 866-251-0699. If they were legitimate, I was sure they were probably looking for the family who used to have my phone number; ever since Verizon gave me the current number, I've been receiving phone calls from various financial institutions (pre-recorded, as well as real person calls) looking for these people who were the previous owners of the phone number. Well, I called that 866 number with my cell phone, with hope to ask them to stop calling. The lady answered the phone by saying "Thank you for calling Capital One...," and asked for my account number. I did not tell her my name, and told her that I did not have an account; I explained to her my intent of the phone call. She apologized, and asked me for the phone number where I received the message. I gave it to her, she paused for a second, and then asked if I was Mrs. xxx; that name matched the previous owner of my phone number. I told her this person no longer had the phone number, and I wanted them to stop calling. She said she needed to transfer me to the correct department. An automated system started, repeatedly asking me to either say or key in my account number; when I repeatedly did not respond, the automated system started asking to say or key in my SSN. I did not respond. A man finally picked up the phone also by saying "thank you for calling Capital One" and asked me for my name. I said he had no reason to know, and explained that I kept receiving annoying phone calls with the same 866 number, and how I was transferred to him. He just said "ok", and then hung up on me!
I can't tell if these people are a scam or not, and I will not provide any info to thme. However, after reading others' input above, I thought it was just very interesteing that the 2 people who answered my call identified themselves as "Capital One"....

I recently got a collection notice from NCL Financial Systems, Inc., about a debt that I paid over a year ago, to the orginal creditor.
I promptly sent them a letter explaining I paid the debt in full, included a copy of the payment receipt and demanded that they send me a letter back stating that they would no longer seek a settlement from me, or I would contact my lawyer to discuss legal action.
Last week, I received a very apologetic letter saying they received old information and that they had closed the account in their office.
Damn, that felt good.
I suggest that when dealing with a CA, like NCL Financial, be firm, know the laws and take no prisoners. You have to be informed or they will take advantage of you.
I owe a lot of gratitude to sites (and posters) like this one for giving me the free education to help me solve all of my debt problems myself.
Thanks to all....

Had two robo calls and called back the number that was provided: 866 816 1066. Responder identified herself as with NCL Financial Institutions. Gave her reference number. She said she was looking for a person whose name was the same as my first but nothing like my last. When I told her, she said thank you and hung up. It's one thing to search by last name but now they're searching by first name????? I've had this phone number for almost 6 years.

I just got a call this morning similar to what everyone else has posted above. I recently pulled a credit report since I am buyig a 2nd house. My credit score is 803 and is as clean as it can be. I called and gave teh reference number and imediately she started to try and probe me for info. I quickly stopped her and said that I was going to be asking the questions. I asked who she was looking for. She gave a name Patrick Cleary. Talk about SCAM, that is nowhere near my name. Also, they called my cell number which I have had for 13 years so we know that they are not looking for the previous owner of the number since it was a newly generated number at the time I opened the cell account. I asked that she remove my number from the reference number and she hung up on me. I called back and apparently got the same girl. I told her that I called earlier and was hung up on and that I wanted them to remove my number from their files and to not call. She asked for teh number which I refused to give her. I told her that I would give her the reference number and she could pull up the file and tell me what number(s) she has referenced. She wouldn't give me any info and kept asking for my number. I asked why she could not give me the number that is associated with the reference number. She replied, "that is why I hung up on you earlier". Before she could hang up again I asked her for a supervisor name and a contact number as it was apparent that she was not authorized to assist me. She gave me a number (1-800-220-2274) and hung up. Called this number and was directed to Mr. Bill Rube's voice mail. I did not leave a message.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Did I mention that I was calm and non combative when speaking to this person? No reason for her to get nasty with me. Anyway, good thing I am friends with a lot of lawyers. Sounds like they called the wrong random number when they called me!

I usually don't pick up unknown numbers, but decided to pick this one up today and I knew it sounded shady! I have also had several problems with people hacking into my email account recently. I'm just afraid that maybe this company already has some of my personal information. Does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks!

I received a call from the same number now three days in a row. When I called back, they stated they were closed? I am very suspicious of this company - do not give them any info.

I just got a phone call, 3 minutes ago. The 1-866 number is slightly different from those above, but the message is the same (for the most part). Call David with refernce # and the message doesn't identify the name of the person who supposedly owes the debt that they're calling for.

I've received telephone calls for recently grown children of family group, and honest debt collectors are pretty good about saying who it is they're looking for when they contact you.

I deleted the message, searched online for NCL Financial Systems, Inc., and found this board.

My 2 cents.

I just received a call that my wife answered while I was out. A woman with NCL financial systems was looking for a personal business letter and couldn't pronounce our last name. I called them back but they were closed. I looked them up and found all these questionable accounts of some what similar situations. What should I do? wait for them to call again?

I have received two recorded calls by 866.637.0270. Both on my cell phone and one was a missed call today Saturday. I decided to return the call and it said all our reps were busy please hold the line. After waiting not even a minute another recording stated they were closed and call back m-f, now the original message told me to call back today Saturday if they were closed why leave such a message? I am a little worried I called from my Iphone you don't think they could have hacked in while I was holding and stole information do you?
