A few years ago I had outstanding credit while being in the military, after getting out a lot of bills didn't follow me. Years continued to pass me by then suddenly I was being hit with constant calls and threats from debtors I didn't remember having. I decided to make amends then was involved in an auto mobile accident that left me unable to work for approximately 6-9 months. Thus adding even more debt, hospital bills etc. I have since made several attempts to make payment arrangement with certain companies, yet it seems as though I am making no headway what so ever. I have considered bankruptcy but really feel an obligation to pay what I owe. I seriously need help.

Thank you

Welcome to the Community ro 1 :D Make sure those debts aren't out of the Statutes of Limitations, and check your credit reports, all three, to see what is on them. Sometimes, the cc companies have a program where they will drop all interest and finance charges for a year, while you make payments, but you have to keep up with the payments. Discuss these and other options with the debt counselor when they contact you. Good Luck..Karen
