a judgement has been entered against me for credit card debt in waynesville, nc, can my property be taken from me?

Welcome to the site!

I'm not sure how it works in NC, but I know here in Michigan, the way a judgement works is this:

-creditor goes to court, obtains judgement against you
-judgement shows up on your credit
-creditor may pursue further by going back to court to obtain a writ of garnishment against your paycheck
-garnishment goes to your employer for enforcement, employer starts taking money from your paycheck and sending it to the creditor in satisfaction of the garnishment.

I've not heard of a judgement being a tool used to take someone's personal property away from them, but I'm sure if that's possible, someone else on this site will comment on it soon. We've seen many different situtations, and there are others on this site who have more experience than I do in this type of situation.

As for the wage garnishment in the Carolinas, Pennsylvania, and texas ther is no wage garnishment for unsecured credit card. For the personal property they can get a writ of execution if they want to make you hand over some of your personal belongings to cover what you owe,but there are are things exempt for that also.Google judgments and writs of execution for your state and you will find what can be exempt in your state. If you own a home they may just put a lien on it until the judgments is paid or the property is sold or refinanced they would get paid first from the proceeds.
