This is for my girlfriend

After going through a rough divorce where she left leaving everything to her husband she found herslef with no money and no job. Bills and debt quickly piled up and she owes 11,000 on credit card and to add insult was scammed through the internet when whe went to sell her ring for 2,500. She is looking for work but is not sure how she will even pay for the gas. She has many professional computer skills and hopes to find work soon being the new year. What can she do. The bank say she owes 1,500 or she will go to jail and her credit card bill is over 1000 dollars this month. Any help wold be greatly appreciatied.

Welcome to the Community :D Here is some info on dbet consolidation and its benefits at http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/benefits.html She can combine all her unsecured debt into one monthly payment, usually with lower interest. Is the bank threatening to send her to jail for NSF fees, or what? I would go up there and talk to them in person to see what arrangements can be worked out. They will usually let you make payments, but you have to talk to them . With her skills, she can probably get a job pretty quick. How was the divorce decree set up, and why is she responsible for them? If you can give a little more info, we can direct you in the right direction. Keep us posted..Karen

Kenneth, I believe you have registered here for the free counseling. A counselor will discuss about the options and combine the debts under one repayment plan. credit card debts keep adding up with the interest and fees. He will call your creditors and waive off most of the fees added in the total debts. The interest rates will also be reduced in the program. Considering your present financial situation, you will be given easier options and become debt free.
