Allied Interstate: 1 CA, 2 recordings, 2 toll-free numbers.
Date: Tue, 01/02/2007 - 16:44
Hello, everyone.
One more question from me about returning calls from allied interstate.
They've been leaving 2 different recorded messages on my machine, and the callback numbers are different.
Should I just choose one and deal with that? And if I do, how will the other computer-dial system know I've responded?
Thanks!

In other news, it looks like the legitimate debt that's on my credit report was actually paid up earlier this summer to the original creditor (medical clinic), and somehow there's been a miscommunication between the clinic and the CA. I'd phoned the clinic's billing department for another reason and asked them to confirm my collections status as a "by the way...just in case" kind of thing. The rep on the other end was a delight--polite, professional, helpful. This helped me be gracious and professional when I called back the CA for clarification. That conversation was a lot more involved, we had to go back and forth with each other to communicate clearly. But they have details now and are going to investigate with the clinic. The rep even said "this will take up to 14 business days, so plan to call back around the 16th to follow up." So, there is at least one legitimate, professional CA out there! (And to be fair, the debt was taken care of in 2 different transactions in 2 different ways, so some confusion is understandable.)
So, fingers crossed, my CA experience story might have a happy ending. But I'm really very happy to have found this community. I'm learning a lot and also laughing alot. And the genuine caring and support for people who are having tough times really shine through. I think that spirit really makes the world better.
Best,
Diva.

If you return the call to only one of the numbers, I would ask that they note your account that they have spoken with you and ask to be taken out of the computer-dial system.
