Oh, I had a ROTTEN day today!!

I got into an argument with a supervisor..(Not my boss) at work, it got pretty ugly..He was in my face pointing and yelling in front of a LOT of people, and I lost it..I started to cry!!

I'm the HR person, for crying out loud, I'm supposed to be the tough one..And I lost my freakin' composure in front of a bunch of people because a mean little man with short-man syndrome called me uncooperative and said I didn't listen..He then said I only had my job because I filled a quota. I am so humiliated..It was awful, this is a professional environment..

I'm ok now, I just needed to vent, and I need a hug.

That's the sad part when you are working under someone.

Don't take it to heart deeply, fins. It happens at work all the time. The seniors will often bully the juniors because they have some powers with them. You just have to have a hard skin when you work under someone.

People are paid for the work they do. Your supervisor should have been professional enough to take you into another room and show the point. Communication is important in order to make things right. But that should be done in a fair way, not by causing insult to others.

Aww, Fins. What a creep! There was definitely a more tactful way of handling the situation. And if he wasn't even your supervisor, what business did he have saying anything to you? I would definitely talk to your supervisor about this. I think this guy owes you an apology.

As far as losing your cool, I can empathize with that. I had one co-worker who thought she was the boss. I worked with her for five years, and one day, I just had enough. I told her off and, because I was so mad, I started crying (something I hate about my temper - I cry when I get really mad!).

CYBER HUG!!!

here's a huge Hug MMMMMMMMM. (that's the kind I give the kids when they are upset). Now if you are the HR director and his position is below you (no pun intended) and he treated you this way - how does he treat the ppl who are under him? I am not sure that his behavior is condusive to a congenial work environment and it very well could fall into on of the harrassment areas.

MMM - by quotas - is he referring to people taller than he is? Women taller than he is? Or maybe he is referring to people with half a brain? Because anyone with half a brain knows that in todays day and age and to be pc, it is against the law in the work place to refer to someones position in public as being filled by a quota. That can be seen as either racial or sexual. And that is harassment! I wonder if he realizes that his treatment of you is against a few federal laws . What a mental midget!!

Get this..I'm small, 5' 1/2, about 110. I bet he's 5'4 120. No joke.

It occured to me that I can get his tail in a lot of trouble...He and I will be chatting tomorrow, he will apologize. If I can kick Doug Danger's a$$ then I can kick little man's too.

BTW..The quota I fill is that of a woman..When I graduated the co needed a lady in HR..I started out as a payroll assistant in a room full of men.
