Can Superior debt help someone like me who has credit cards in collections. The creditors are constantly callig my home. The debt is as old as a couple of years. My guess is that it totals about $13,000

Welcome to the site!

I would recommend checking out any debt consolidation company you are thinking of using to help with your debts. Go to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website and check out their profile there to be sure they don't have a bunch of unresolved complaints against them.

Also, if you feel that the company you have chosen won't work for you, or you aren't comfortable with their reputation, check out your local phone book for other debt counselors, or register with this site. When you register here, a debt counselor will contact you for a free phone consultation and offer debt consolidation or settlement options.

Yes, most consolidation / settlement companies include bills that are in collections in their program. How old is the debt? Maybe, you can check the SOL period of your state to know whether you are legally responsible to pay them. Out of moral obligations, you always are. A debt that is already past the statutes cannot put you in legal troubles.
