Instant Cash Flow

I just received a letter in the mail from Credit Service of Logan, Inc. collecting for a ipdl from Instant Cash Flow. The balance I owed them was $198, now they say it is $300.10. I called them to ask where the extra $102.10 came from and they said when debts are referred to them to collect, they add an additional amount to collect the debt. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

Collectors are allowed to add some fees, provided it is mentioned in the contract you signed with your original creditor. The DA's office has some fixed charges when the accounts reach to collections. Verify the info and check your contract to confirm about these added charges.
