This is the first time I've dealt with anyone there not leaving the generic number always posted. He contacted me with a harassing message from 904-982-0091. He did not say what his title was, but he said that the case had been turned over to him from another department and that he would personally be coming to my house to get a check from me since I informed Mr. Hagan that my account would not allow ACH payments anymore.

Welcome to the forums. Sorry you're having trouble with these folks, they sound like real bottom-of-the-barrel lowlife scum.

Left you a message? As in recorded? Or told someone to tell you...
Anyway...if it's recorded, keep it, it's worth a lot to the FL AG (Florida Attorney General). I think it would be very hard to argue that "I'm coming to your house" isn't a threat. When it would be so much easier to just give you a mailing address for the Money Order.

Anyway...there are lots of members here who will be able to help you out. Meanwhile, do a search and read the existing threads about Bass prelitigation, etc. From what I've read here, there is a legitimate law firm out of Arizona called Bass and Associates--they collect debts in a legal and professional manner. Apparently, these, um, "people" from Florida are using their name to confuse the issue, because there are so many complaints.

The other suspicion running around this board is that these Bass people from Florida are Ellis Crosby and associates re-incarnated (I think I have the name right, but it's in a couple of those threads). You can go to budhibbs.com and read up about them.

OK. Gotta get some zzzzs now. Just didn't want to leave you hanging because I know how it is to want info! Hang in there, I believe you will find the support and info you need here on debtcc.

Best,
Diva

This man is making a false threat, which is illegal. Do not send him any money, this is a nasty company. File a complaint with the FL Attorney General's office and with your state's AG office immediately. And save that recorded message, they may be nasty, but nobody said they were smart. He isn't coming to your house, your aren't going to be investigated, and you are not going to be arrested or taken to jail.
