I have a charge off on my CR from First Premier Bank. I got my check on Friday and have the extra money to pay it off ($239.22). :D It is with a CA right now and that is who I made the check out to. I called them yesterday to get the payoff address and asked the lady about reporting it to the credit bureaus and she said that they didn't report, F.P. would report it. When they get the check for the payoff in full, (no settlement, paid balance in full), how will it appear/change on my CR?? Since it will have a $0 balance, will it still report charge off?? And since I paid it, will my scores go up???

It looks like FP has not sold your account to the CA. They will do the reporting to the CRA. Try to convince for a payment arrangement and to update your credit report in a fair way. It is up to FP to do the reporting. Even if you pay the CA, they will send it to FP. You have the choice not to deal with them in between.

Well, I really don't need a payment arrangement. The charge off was for $358, and I paid them a payment of $119 in Dec. Now I have mailed them a check for the remaining $239 to pay it in full. Yea, I will contact FP in about a month to see if they got the payment. Do you think that the charge off status will change and what about my scores??
