hi,i am living in the uk,i have sold my house,and i am moving to australia in 6wks,i owe about 40k on credit cards to 3 different lenders,can the debt follow me,can i offer a less amount to settle,

U.S. law gets it's basis from English law (except Louisiana whic
U.S. law gets it's basis from English law (except Louisiana which gets it's basis of law from the French). So basically the theories are the same. If you incurred a debt in the U.K., the jurisdiction of the debt is in the U.K. and can be pursued against you regardless of where you live in the world.
