Hello,

I live in CT and currently have 5 PDL loans. They are all internet based and are the from these companies:

Emerald Marketing
Nevis Marketing
United Cash Loans
ameriloan
CRI Interweb Marketing

Like a lot of people, I find myself in a big bind in trying to pay them back. I have closed the account used for these loans and have opened a new one just like a lot of people on here have suggested.

Nevis Marketing has apparently passed my file to a company called United Processing. The number says they are from Florida but everyone there seems to be foreign...makes me skeptical since the loan was internet based and I have no idea "where" anyone really is.

The man from United Processing was very nasty and was threatening me with charges for internet fraud if I didn't pay a total of $580 on what was a $200 loan. He has called me several times at work. I obviously don't want him to move forward with any kind of lawsuit attached to my SS#. Any thoughts on how to deal with him or any of these other companies?

Thank you so much...

Debra

Welcome to the forums. Here is your first step so you can see for yourself. Go to http://www.paydayloaninfo.org and look up your state laws. It is prohibited there. Next I want you to contact your Attorney Generals consumer division office and ask to speak to someone immediately. They cant get you on internet fraud they are blowing smoke. I wish I had a dollar for everytime I have heard this. They are the ones that commit fraud. Keep us posted on your progress. KYSIDE38

Thanks for much for your information. Seems that my state doesn't have very much to say on the issue...I'm not sure I understand the law. For Connecticut, according to the link you posted, I read it as saying they are not allowed to requested these excessive fees. So for example, on the $200 loan, they are able to charge me up to $600?

I'm sorry but these issues make my brain freeze and I can't seem to think straight. So after I talk to the AG's office...what should I do about these other companies. Have you heard about these specifically in the past?

The only two I have personally dealt with are ameriloan and United and guess what they are one in the same. They are MTE Financial or aka Rio Resources. I personally would not give them another dime. File those complaints you have paid far more than enough. Send them letters demanding refunds. KYSIDE38

I also have many payday loans. ameriloan is one of the internet payday loan companies that I owe. I hired an payday loan debt consolidation company, Langhorne debt solutions. They are really helping me. They gave me this website and told me if I continue getting harassing calls to call them back and they will file a complaint against the company. I just found out that most of the internet payday loan companies aren't even legal in a lot of states, so they can't prosecute you.

I just got a call from a man named Shawn from Nevis and he was really nasty. He cursed at me and called me all sorts of names. He told me that I owed $685 on a debt of $300 which I already paid $150 toward. He said that I needed to pay him $500 today or else I had to pay $1k in court. He said he would be calling my manager! I work at a call center and these type of calls could cost me my job! If you find out the main number to this company please post it. Thank you!
