Collect America? I took an MBNA loan a few years ago when i purchased an apple computer. I set up an online payment plan to pay the minimum each month. now i moved and havent been recieving my statments or even try to get them from mbna (yes my fault)they are still taking the monthly payments. I have checked my credit report and it states that my loan has been charged off and now collect america had it. but my bank records say mbna online payments. I cant find any on the website for me to find out what happend and Ive heard awful things about dealing with collect america. I figure i should call them but i do i handle this? How do i handle a difficult collection agency? should i send a letter instead?

Is it reporting on your credit reports? If so you can contact whoever is doing the reporting. If they don't have the account then they have to remove it from your report. I am not sure why Visa won't give you any info....if they sold the account they should tell you who too, or even at least that the account is charged off....I would send visa a letter asking for the information.
