So I just called back the man named Tom Jackson from United Processing Division who is calling in reference of a defaulted internet PDL from Nevis Marketing. He insisted that I was supposed to pay $580 on a $200 loan.

I told him that I contacted an attorney (even though I didn't) and the attorney has advised that I get this debt in writing. He said that according to the contract I agreed to online that the company is not responsible to send me anything else in writing. He would not give me their location...and when I said I needed to send them a letter...he said oh what letter...I said that he can read it when it gets there...and he wouldn't give me the address. All he would tell me is that their home office is in Jacksonville, FL. He wouldn't even give me the main 800# for the office because he said it's always busy. I told him I wasn't just going to send a random money gram or Western Union to someone that I don't even know or have any documentation that what he is telling me is valid. He said they are not there to have to deal with people who commit fraud so he doesn't have to work with me...that didn't make any sense and I started laughing ;) I don't think he liked that very much. He said that I am in a big legal mess and that 25 people were going to show up at my door so that I can be processed right there...he said I would see all the paperwork I need right then.

I knew he was going to act this way because of reading all the things on this site!

I hope I handled myself well...he hung up on my twice.

I think you did a fine job. I would like to know just who those 25 people are? Police, gestapo, pathetic collection agents? I just love when you get some ignoramous on the phone who is speaking leagalese babal trying toscare the wits out of you and you blow the wind out of their sails by asking for what is rightfully yours to have by law. Just remember - keep your voice calm and firm (between the laughter) and speak slowly with conviction.

You don't need to be paying this company at all. He is not going to give you the address, because they are in the process of being civilly sued by several attorneys and probably the State of Florida in due time. That is the only reason they are not giving you the address. Well that and the fact they are probably owned by Bass or Ellis Crosby, so they don't want to give out the fact they are housed out of the same office.

If you really wish to settle this account, you need to contact the entity who owns the account (most likely ICollect or the original PDL) and make arrangements with such company.

LMAO! You must feel pretty special for this dumba$$ company to send out 25 people to serve you over such a small loan! That really cracks me up. What a moron this collector must be. Don't fall for their false threats. You should tell him that 10 already showed up and "processed" you so he can call off the other 25.

25 people are going to show up for a $200 loan? Gee! that is impressive, unbelievable and a load of crap, but impressive!

Sounds like you handled yourself just fine. I would have loved to see his face when you laughed at him!! Don't let swine like him bring you down in the muck with him.

  They are too funny! No one is gonna come after you for that small pittance of a debt. Now granted that debt may be huge to you,but it would cost them five to ten times the amount just to get to civil court. They would also have to prove this is a legal debt and that they are licensed to loan & collect on said debt in your resident state. The way I see it he is blowing some serious smoke and he cannot do anything except try to scare you.

Our law firm has filed a lawsuit against the United Processing collectors who are collecting on behalf of Platinum B. The collection practices that we have heard about are abusive and outrageous. We are very curious if other consumers have been harassed in violation of the fdcpa as witnesses in our case. email address removed for your saftey

Max's Story, if you register as a member you can get the ability to pm others. But for those who have been terrorized by these people, you will need to prove you are who you say you are, an attorney suing this bottom feeder collection agency. For anybody knows you could be with this company and seeking information from the victims and using it against them.

I am glad to hear that someone is standing up to these companies and having success. maybe it is about time that we all do this to payday loan companies. It will be interesting to see what would happen when the consumers start harassing the companies to give them their money back or to get them to leave them alone.
