Is there any good companies that can help you avoid foreclosure? We had some major mis management of our money of the last few months and are behind and feel foreclosure is coming soon. Trying to figure out how I can stop this. The amount due is way more than I can pay in one lump sum.

What is the exact situation you are having?

Keep in touch with your lender and arrange for a payment plan. Don????????t ignore their calls or letters. Keep in mind they might be in a better position and take away your mortgage. Have the confidence in yourself and don????????t assume your situation is hopeless.

Try to reinstate the present payment plan. Assure larger payments when your situation improves. You will have to talk with them regularly to make them understand your situation. You may also try for forbearance.

If the above options don????????t work, request the lender to modify your mortgage. One solution is to add the past due amount into your existing loan, financing it over a long term.

If you aren????????t comfortable talking with your lender directly, talk to a HUD approved counselor. He will figure out the best option for you and negotiate with your lender for a repayment program.

Seeing your intentions and according to your financial situation, they will work out something rather than taking you to the court. The judge will assess your income before formatting a payment plan. If you had extra money, it would never have reached this far. Call your lender and get enrolled in one of their hardship programs.
