What happens to pdls that go to a collection agency. This one was a storefront pdl and they went out of business and now a collection company is calling me. I'm in PA

If the collection agency can confirm you with all the details about this pdl, you will have to pay them. This is possible only if they have purchased the debt from the storefront lender. Since the original company is not in business anymore, the CA cannot be hired now for collecting this debt. They need to prove with the papers that they are the current creditor.

I had one with checkngo store front, it continued to debit my account as usual until it was paid off. Were they debiting your account before they went out of business.
