You've come to the right place for some advice. First...calm down. I know that sounds difficult right now, but getting yourself physically ill over this situation will not make it go away. The debt is there, the situation has happened...now the best thing you can do is attack it head on and do what you can to get through it.
First and foremost, talk to your landlord about your rent situation. Try to work something out where you can make payment arrangments so you can stay in your home. That should be your first priority. See if you can pay something on it every payday to show her you truly intend to pay it off. Call some of the local charities like the Salvation Army to see if there is help available to help pay your rent until you get out of this situation.
Second, talk to your bank. Take your checkbook with you and have them go over it with you to clear up the NSF check(s) situation. Be proactive in asking for their help, and they may be more willing to work with you on this problem.
Next, talk to the credit counselor that will be calling you, based on your registration at this site - it's a free consultation designed to get you started on the road to becoming debt free. They will offer you programs for debt consolidation or settlement. You my use their program or contact another agency in your area, but I definitely recommend talking to a credit or debt counselor soon to discuss your situation. It can only help you.
Keep us posted on your progress, and let us know if you have any more questions! :D

Hi ecooke84. I know exactly how you're feeling right now. I was in a situation with payday loans and getting charged right and left by my bank when they, too, rearranged payments and then double charged me for overdrafts. A debt counselor will help you decide which will be the best course of action for you to take. You'll be back on track before you know it. Just hang in there. Things will get better for you. Any time you'd like to talk, feel free to post. The best of luck to you. Let us know how you're doing.

ecooke84---First thing, take a deep breath and begin breathing. I know this sounds stupid, but my therapist told me you have to take deep breaths and not little "sips" of air to calm down. Second---Read all of the advice that has been posted in response to your initial posting, then read it again and even again. Sometimes when we are upset, it can take some time to absorb information fully.
Everyone on here has been through the same type of situation and can relate on all different levels. So, like it was posted above, feel free to come on here and ask tons of questions and read through the postings. Welcome!
