Does anyone have a template letter than I can use to send to the different credit bureaus to dispute items on my credit report? I'm not sure how to word it and from reading some of the topics, I have to be pretty clear on what I'm requesting from them in order for them to send me the required information. Thanks.

I tried doing it online and for some reason, it wouldn't let me dispute anything online. I kept getting a little message stating something to the effect of not being able to do it. I'm not sure why because I've done it online before (last year). Infact, it won't even let me view my TransUnion report online, so I've sent off for all 3 of my reports via mail.

Sorry, that was myself that replied. I forgot to sign in. Oh, quick question... I have both a copy of the Equifax and Experian report on the same item, but one lists the type of account as Open, and the other lists the Type of Account as Installment. One also reports a date opened while the other has the date opened blank. Should this also be mentioned to the CB's?

Creditors don't report to all the bureaus. That is why, the information provided to one bureau is different from the other. Compare both the reports and figure out the items you find incorrect. Dispute it in writing and request for the results of their investigation. It should be updated and a free copy will be sent to your mailing address.
