Ok everyone this is it! I received a copy of the letter today that was sent to Rio Resources and MTE Financial by the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit. They have told them to CEASE AND DESIST making loans in Oklahoma!!! Hooray! Everyone start sending those complaints in fast. We are on a roll!!! I have attached a copy of the letter, I hope it shows up ok.

Just an FYI: I am the one that originally posted the letter on here. I worked many months trying to get OKDCC to help me. The first person that I spoke with said there was nothing he could do because MTE/Rio was located on the Reservation. I then filed complaints with my AG, who sent it to OK's AG, who sent it to OKDCC, and this time it got to the right person who sent me the cease and desist letter. You need to speak to the person that has sent these letters. I have his name and number if any of yall want it. Just PM me.

chizhy,
I did not mean to offend you in anyway with posting the info on the letters i received. It was your original post the encoureged me to file to OK about these companies. My letter stated though, that I am not responsible to pay back any principal nor interest fees and i am entiled to any nsf charges they caused me. I don't remember if your letter said that also, otherwise our letters were pretty much the same.

I will have to try and contact roger wagner tomarrow. i am reading posts that OK is saying its only for OK residents, but pdl's are illegal and prohibited in my state of New Jersey so possibly thats why my case is possibly different. I will call him Friday and repost to you all what I was told.

Do I have to file a complaint with OK's AG for EVERY pdl I have through MTE/RIO. I have been in contact with my states AG (WI) about Bass & Associates today and was thinking about forwarding this to her to check out. They have had lots of complaints over ipdls plus I have been trying to work on getting things changed on how pdls work in Wisconsin because the laws here stink. Great job to those who worked so hard in getting these guys to shut down. I am keeping my fingers crossed because that would be 4 down and 3 to go.

Ok update. I just called the Chamber of Commerce, Miami Ok. I asked "Is Miami Ok on the Reservation"? The woman almost laughed at me while telling me "no". I said "Well, several tribal headquarters are there in Miami, correct?" and she said yes, but those were office buildings(that apparently they lease). So bottom line, MTE is not on the Reservation and is listed as a US not Tribal company. I'm calling my attorney now. I think a civil suit could be in order.

Ok, more info...Rio Resources is licensed in New Mexico, agent name is Rio Grande Trust, agent to Rio Grande Trust is a person with a Santa Fe NM address. I did not think I could put his name on the website. It shows the principal address of Rio Resources as The Canary Islands. THE REASON THAT IT SHOWS AS THE CANARY ISLANDS IS Rio Grande Trust has a business form on the internet for people to get a New Mexico Limited Liability License. One of the options on the form is to have your principal place of business as the CANARY ISLANDS. So people send them a money order or check to go in and file for a business license!! AH HAH!! Wonder if the State of New Mexico would be interested in finding this out! I might just give them a call. This is getting VERY interesting.

Mishele,
My hubby and I got quite a few IPDL's and we both got laid off for a couple months and our bank closed our checking account so all the payments went back account closed/nsf. I have worked out agreements with some of the companies and have paid them off. But we still have some left to work with like MTE/tendollarpayday,Loanshop, Cashtoday,500Fast cash, one click cash. I had a place call me and 2 of these loans went to a CA and they told me they would take a settlement of 1001.00 and that would take care of the 2. The original amount was 1320.00. both of these were 200.00 loans. I live in WI and our laws here suck. I was supposed to call Mr. Bobby West back on Feb. 1st. with payment arrangements. He was really nice though he didn't threaten me at all but I don't think I owe them that much. So I know I have to call back and get a name of the company and addy so I can send a letter to them. I did talk to my states AG and she asked if I went looking for these loans I said no I just answered e-mails (was desperate for cash  )that were sent to me and she told me that if they do that then they have to be licensed in the state and if they are not then they are illegal. She is going to get back to me. So thanks to this site I am not scared to answer my phone anymore :D

puddlejmpr,

I'm not too familiar with Wisconsin laws but I can read up on them after bit. I have all state laws printed out and in a folder. Are you dealing with any storefront lenders in your area? Those are the ones that you will want to take care of first. How much have you paid on your internet ones? Feel free to pm me with more details. I will be happy to help you.
"I have no position with them. I am asking a general question. I am asking if you had a loan with them or have been in the payday loan trap yourself."
To answer your statement(you didn't use ? at the end, that makes your sentance a statement) Chuckles. Nope, i have not had any pay day loans. Nor will i ever. Before you go off about it, remember a couple of points.

i don't have a problem with any thats in business to be profitable & conducts their business within the confines of the law & adherence of estblished business principles, guidelines & regulations. None what so ever. You want to make a buck? Knock yourself out!

What i do have a problem with, is dishonesty, deceptiveness & any other legal term that will work here in the proper context. Ringing telephones at home & work off the hook all day long & well into the night?

With demand after demand to pay your loan up with a western union or money gram & only to turn around later to have it come right back at them?

Tell them they are going to jail? For refusing to no longer play the downward spiral game they get stuck in? Watch their lives start unraveling, basically in a state of shock unable to cope nor wanting to live because of whats happening to their money, family, job, ect?

The police are on their to your work to arrest them? Because a internet or other pay day loan company has put their checking account in the red & keeping it there for as long as possible? The bank heaping on upwards to thousands of dollars in NFS fees & still continue letting the bad guy take swipes at them?

Your stance is definitely appearing to be on the side of the bad guys. Mine is clearly on the side of these people that have become an unwitting victim of pay day loans, way too much stress in their lives, families starting to fall apart on them & NFS fee's up the wazzu.....?

So continue to follow my postings around the forums, poke your fun at my posts, i don't care what you post behind mine. because i do know this much. you sir have a problem with my taking a stand for the civil, consumer & legal rights of these people.

You've heard the saying "One riot, one ranger". A man in the wrong cannot stand against a fella in the right that keeps on a coming.

Yes, I do have a few comments. What makes you think I work in the payday loan industry? I don't because I have been in this trap myself. I was curious to see if you have been in the trap yourself because there are some posts of yours that make no sense what so ever to me. You freely give advice which is fine but only do so if you know what you are talking about. It has caused a lot of confusion with the newer members on the boards. You post a lot of nonsense and it's really getting on my nerves. You seem to think you know everything about everything. This simply is not humanly possible bud.

i've never professed to know everything...your question er statement since it was phrased as such points towards your being on the other side of the fence. i make every effort when pointed out politely to clarify any posts that appear to be confusing to people. you do have a problem.....

you've only made posts under this psuedonym to mine, total of 16-17 times. it's fine by me if you do follow my posts around the forums & heckle me. do not however, make the mistake of thinking that you are going to have any effect on me. that tells me i have struck a raw nerve in you.
