Has anyone worked with Christian Crossroads? We started a debt settlement plan a few months ago and now we can't seem to get any communication from them?

Did you get a copy of the contract signed by Christian Crossroads? You will find their address somewhere at the bottom of the page. Send a request to cancel the contract, and keep a follow up on the phone after you have sent the cancellation request. Make arrangements with your creditors as they are willing to work with you.

Christian Crossroads and you cannot get in contact with them. That is not very Christian like on their part is it?

But seriously, I would try to contact the BBB and find out what is their exact contact information. I would also keep trying to keep in contact with them. Do you have any paperwork from them indicating what your contract is? Do you have any information on them? I have never heard of them so I cannot tell you anything about them.

If you have been unsuccessful with your pursuit, it may be time to inform the BBB that the company is unreachable. How much money have you given to them and what debts do you have with them?

I can definitely vouch for what Roadwarrior is saying - my faith in companies that claim to be Christian was totally shattered when I bought my house last year. The broker claimed to be Christian, but was so absolutely unreliable as a person, and such a liar that I finally came to the conclusion that she simply uses that as a front to get business. Any time I would bring up the fact that I left her 5 phone messages before she called me back (took her a week to call back), or reminded her of something she told me to be true, and then changed her story on, she would say "let's pray!" as if that made it all ok.

These people are the worst. They're misleading regarding the fees they'll charge. They rarely return phone calls or emails or faxes. They're vultures.

Don't get involved with this company. I did and there are too many "shady" things that happen.
1. Once you have a "counselor", they won't give you a phone number to contact him by. You can only email and than the emails that ask important questions seem to magically not go through.
2. The phone number on their website has been disconnected.
3. If you do talk with someone and ask to be transfered to quality assurance, the same person comes on the line stating they are from quality assurance.
4. When you ask to speak with your counselor, they say he is not in their office but if you push it, they say he's not in at the moment.

I am concerned that the work Christian is being used to lure people in. Please be advised.

This company has helped me immensely. I came to them with almost 100k in debt. We only have 3 creditors left to go out of 10. They settled 6 and one took my to court. If you understand debt settlement, you would know that this is part of the risk. You should pay more attention reading contracts and maybe do a little less blaming.

I've been with them 12 months Apr.2009. They seem to indicate that the creditors are beginning to want to settle the accounts. I'm trying to hold out. However because of the times this was my last ditch effort. Hoping all will come out fine. Any suggestions, I do have a written contract and have been getting email responses to my inquiries.

Unfortunately the founder of Christian Crossroads has been arrested for removing a federal device ( an ankle bracelet) as he was arrested then released on parole for trying to lure minors ( 11 & 13 ) into his vehicle for innappropriate relations. These people are not religious. They are as previously stated praying off people who have faith. Check out the story for yourselves.
cbs12 (dot) com just search for ken morton. you will see a reference to this company and his other activities. ... enjoy.... sucks for those of you who lost your money.

We paid about $4000 at $300 per month and for this we received only "counseling" (some very bland written statements about "how to be debt free")
When we asked to close the plan early as they had done NOTHING to help us - they charged us in total just over 54% of all the money we had paid in to the "distribution plan account".
So the only people who gained out of this were Christian Crossroads.
We made a complaint through BBb but it was unanswered by the company.
The Florida consumer affaris people were a waste of time.
They asked US to furnish an address for the company as they could not find them!
So based on our experiences with CC I believe you must have been either very fortunate or lucky !!!???

We were unfortunate enough to trust these sharks.
My wife thought they would be honest because of the
"Christian" tag - no such luck!!!
They did NOTHING for us and when we asked to terminate the plan because of doubts about their operation -
They took some 54% in fees of the money we paid in good faith.
Over $2000 in all.
The BBB site says they now appear to be out of business.
--------------------------
Thank Our Lord for that!!!!
--------------------------
How many more of the scammers will be allowed to take advantage of people already in difficult circumstances.
They are a blot on the American flag and I hope this administration will move to outlaw their operations as soon as possible.

the creator and supervisor of this company has been arrested for breaking the law. turns out he is a repeat offender. and he is in no way religious. it is just a front to entice faithful people. google his name and you'll see.

We did the same in Apr, 2006 and after 6 months of nothing done by them and being very hard to contact and constant harrassement from our creditors in the meantime, we asked for a refund and to withdraw from the program. Out of 6498.00 pd to them we got back 456.00 saying the rest went to fees but they never even sent out proposal letters promised or tried to settle debt. I filed complaints with Federal Trade and BBB in Florida and just now heard they are being investigated and I am sending them all I have to help the investigation. Stay clear of this company if you have already invested money.

finally someone else who has been hurt by these people. We lost 6,000.00 in 2206 and filed complaints with FTC who has just now contacted us to investigate them and asked for any info I have kept and I did, plenty of it. I pray that the people who got hurt will recover their hard earned money. We sure could use it now with no work out there for my husband and me working part time. They hurt us tremendously and I am sure many others we do not know about or who did not pursue it.

get out of it, you will never see your money. We lost over 6,000 and they never did a thing for us in 6 months. I filed complaints with FTC and BBB and just now heard from FTC. They are under investigation and asking for information we might have and I have a lot which I kept just in case. They never sent our proposals either, I finally did and then the creditors talked to me. They will never refund your money, stop while you still can.

first things first you must report them if you have been a victim of this company. Its sad but alot of scammers out there are really taking advantage of people right now with the economy in the crapper and using religion as a cover for trust. over and over again i have heard on these boards of people being scammed by religious companies. please be careful and do the proper homework to find a company to trust your finances to.

but please its too late for you but you could help someone else by reporting these people we all have a obligation to help protect each other and get companies like this shut down.

Be warned any person dealing with this fraudulent company will lose their money. Enrolled in this program for a period of 8 months paying them $341 per month to hav...e them settle with my credit card companies. What they don't tell you is that of the $341 per month only $20.46 per month is actually used toward applying toward your debt. After 8 months of not having any headway with this company trying to settle our debt with my collectors, we canceled the program. After 4 months of continuous calling and writing through certified mail we were hoping to get a large portion of the money we paid them back.($2728 paid to Christian Crossroads to be exact) We received a letter from them stating we should be receiving a check from them for $657.62. So for 8 months of giving them our money to do something for us and absolutely nothing being done other than getting us sued by one of our creditors for non-payment they charged us $2070.38

To whoever is worried about Christian crossroads please be patient! I have been with them since March 2009 and just this month the guy that I am working with was able to settle on 2 credit cards for almost 80% of the balance on the cards. I am so happy. I got creditors calling me for the first 5 months and it was very hard but then they started to stop calling. The creditors will tell you anything to just get a payment from you. They will tell you all the time that they haven't heard from the Christian Crossroad people. They lie! Like I said be patient! If you have any questions email me at Parabanks3@yahoo.com. I am very happy and love that a christian company is helping me. God is good!

I am a victim of Christian crossroads and I think they need to pay everything back to
everyone that was taken. They will keep doing it untill it is stopped. this day and age you have to go thru all kinds of red tape just to state the truth of what a company like this is doing to the american people.

I entered into an agreement with Christian Crossraods and opted out of their program due to lack of responce. They still have close to $5000.00 of my money that they have not returned.

I sent them e-mails, letters, a letter from my attorney and have filed a complaint with the attorney general but no responce. This has been going on for several months

We were scammed out of about $2500 in "fees" by christian crossroads - the owner - one kenneth morton - is now imprisoned for soliciting minors - you can find the details online - one of the florida newspapers has the detials and the florida prison system publishes his details - and a photo.
He was and is a thoroughly evil character - I hope he rots in prison and then hell!!!

I dont think we are tlaking about the same company!
Ken Morton aka "christian" crossroads is in prison for offences involving minors (amongst other things) - He is listed in the Florida Prison Dept pages and there is a photo of him there also.
A thoroughly evil and deceitful character - definitely a disciple of the old one!!!

Don't use this company, they have used people remotely away from there company to conduct business. For example there company based out of Florida will employee a person in Illinois to help those "victims of prey" and swallow their money. And I like other have been out money, not as much as others because I saw the signs and ran quickly. There are others that will post reviews to make the company look good, and most likely those people have the hand in the money jar.

It is extremely sad that people can sleep with them selves at night, and think in the end it is all good. Good luck with the final answer in the end and of course getting rid of that ankle bracelet, who knows maybe they will be promoted to have a house with bars.

i totally agree, this company did more harm to me than they ever did good. Mr. Archer stated that he " knew " the amounts credit companies would settle for and the fact is they settled alright-right in the court room where I had to defend my stupidity. I know deal with my debt the way I should have in the first place. I have requested the return of my money from Mr. Archer and as yet, I have heard nothing from Crossroads. I was told I had to wait 90 days and that time is long since past. What a sad day that people use faith based scams to try and help those who are seeking help.

My wife and I used Christian Crossroads, Caution ------SCAM They took over $7k from us. They never did do any reduction to our creditors.I feel for all that have been taken by this so called company. They should have to pay back everyone that has been sucked in. I don't have the money to take them to court. I am in chapter 13 for over 3 1/2 years now, and with 1 1/2 to go. They are like a pop up car sales moving all the time and changing rep all the time. The BBB wont do anything. The Federal trade commission just put new Restrications on debt settelment co to curb abuse. but what about all the people they rip off in the process. How can anybody work for a company like this and sleep? at night. Their all DOGS and I hope they go to HELL

i have been working with christian crossroades for almost three years. they have settled several accounts for me with no more trouble than lack of communication. they never seemed to be working on anything until i'd receive a harrassing call from a creditor and e-mail it to my counselor. several weeks ago i tried to get in touch withm; their website was being "reconstructed' and my e-mails kept coming back "unknown' i began to panic when finally an e-mail went thru. miracle of miracles within a couple days, they had a settlement agreement sent to my e-mail to be signed and sent back asap. I faxed it back Sat. Mon sent an e-mail letting them know it had been faxed---guess what they didn't get it! I went out Monday afternoon and faxed it again. heard nothing from them until this morning---supposedly they couldn't pay the agreement because there's "no money in my account" tho my bank statements show that the automatic withdrawals have been made every month and i am sure there should have been $1000 in there. now i don't know what to do next--there are two accounts pending.

I was working with Christian Crossroads as well..Out of 4 creditors, Mr. Archer settled with one, in 2 yrs..Then told me I needed to extend my membership, because the other creditors wouldn't settle..They wanted 90%..I finally told him that I was going to file bankruptcy..He said that I had around $2400.00 balance..and that it would take 90 days to receive it..So I went to a bankruptcy Atty and he said that was strange..anyway...it is almost 5 mo..I have sent faxes, emails, and letters and have not heard a thing from them..

I started with them March of 09. by may of 2011 we had paid off two creditors. One for 25% and the other for 75%. Then I got another offer from creditor in Dec. 2011 for a low amount. Emailed and faxed the information in and they replied back. I had plenty in my account and was almost done paying them. I haven't heard anything from them sense. They robbed me of about $7,000.
