I owe two small debts to allied interstate totaling no more than $200. I would like to settle these debts with them, but only if they will remove them from my credit report. Other companies have agreed to do this. One person that works there told me they would and another told me that it wasn't their policy. I have heard nothing but bad things about them and I am afraid to pay them at all now. What should I do?

Speak with the person who agreed to your settlement proposal. Ask him to send the deal in your email so that you have a documentation of the arrangment made.

Collection entries cannot be removed before the seven years mark. If the person says he is going to remove it, get it in writing first. If there is no proof in paper, it never happened.
